What ia an Avatar?
An Avatar is a small program written in a language called vrml. This program will determine what you look like when you are in a 3D chat room. It is stored some where on the web so that is available to you and anyone else you chat to in a 3D chat room. All Avatar programs are files that end in .wrl . An Avatar can be any thing from human form with complex gestures, to an inanimate object.

How to use an Avatar
Just like a web site, you must know the URL, or web address, of the avatar you want to use. When you are in a 3D chat room, you will see your name on a list to the right of the chat window. Double click your own name or use the Personal Data choice under the Options tab, and a "Personal Data" box, like the one below, will appear. You must put the web address of the Avatar you wish to use in the "Avatar URL" box. (See Arrow Below) The address must be spelled exactly right! Be sure the "re-logon to make changes visible" box is checked, then click the "OK" button, and you will disappear and re-appear with your new Avatar!
